Summer Plans

Last summer I spent three months sitting in my air conditioned house makin a baby.  This summer I refuse.  Here are a few of my plans if you want to get in on them.

  • June 8-13th  Mini portrait/family sessions.  Check out my new portrait pricing on my website.  I am now doing prints!    I am so excited.   For years I have only been giving the disc because it has been what people want but now I am going to try to give you what you dont know you want.  And let me just tell you,  you want NICE prints.   Wait until you see the difference between what my pro-lab prints vs. walmart.  They are going to BLOW YOU AWAY!!  But dont worry, you can still buy the disc too.
  • July 16-20  Ashland Kentucky here I come.  Now booking portrait shoots around the beautiful city of Ashland.  Nothing like new (several hundred year old) locations to inspire me.
  • First part of September Calgary Alberta.  Also doing sponsored photoshoots up there.  Final plans havent been made on whether we are doing studio or outdoor shoots there but possibly a mix of both.
  • Weddings:  Intermingled between these portrait trips are some of the most amazing weddings.  I just cant wait to see what these couples pull together.
  • October Cancun Mexico. Also more to come on that.  But that technically isnt summer anymore.

And because this is a photoblog, not a read Darla go on and on blog, I will post a pic of sweet Isabella.

Lovey Loo

Dante has been eyeing these lanterns in my studio for weeks.  Everytime he’s in there he stands next to the table they sit on and shakes it, hoping that one will fall into his little destroying hands.   So, on a whim yesterday, as I tried to ignore the piles of laundry that I not so lovingly call Mt. Everest, I sat him naked in the middle of them and thought he would go crazy.  But he just wanted my camera and I spent the entire 5 minutes trying to haul him back to his spot.  So I gave up thinking I hadnt gotten one good shot.  But I did.  One.  Here it is.  Thanks goodness for fast cameras.

Kyle & Natalie ~ The Wedding

What a lovely couple.  So relaxed.  Down to earth.  Chill.  My kind of people.

BTW, the bride made her own BEAUTIFUL cake.  I wanted to look all day at all the vintage inspired detail.

Natalie

I am a little late posting Natalies bridals but better late than never I guess.

Natalie is the owner and creative mind behind Chandalier Cakes.  She is one talanted girl.  Thus the apron/cake pic below.

The Owens Family

Olivia & Harris

Wind can be a blessing and a curse all in one photoshoot.  There were times when the wind would whip Olivia’s hair around and ruin the whole shot but then there were times when the wind would softly pick up her hair and make the shot so beautiful.  And little Harris, He was a trooper.  He would have loved to be the silly four year old that he is but instead he reined it all in to smile sweetly for his mom’s mothers day photos.

Katie’s Bridals

Aaaawwww Spring!  I LOVE IT.  And I LOVE Katies photos.  So BEAUTIFUL.  Her fiance BRETT came along for a few shots.  I called him another name thru the whole thing and they never corrected me.  Towards the end my intuition finally picked up as I realized they were smiling every time I called him by the wrong name.  All I can do is shake my head and laugh at myself.  I know I did that one other time about 5 years ago and to this day I still call the guy Brad in my mind even tho that is NOT his name.   I wonder how many other times I have done that and no one has corrected me.  Hmmm….embarrassing.   But back to topic.  How lovely is this bride?

Morgan

On round one of Morgans senior photos we were having such a great time outdoors when the spring wind picked up and about blew us away.  We scheduled a round two only to be rained out.  So, we got creative in the studio and I love the way they turned out.

Morgan I wish you the best of luck next year either basking in the sun or in the rolling wheat fields…where ever life takes you!
