Lovey Loo

Dante has been eyeing these lanterns in my studio for weeks.  Everytime he’s in there he stands next to the table they sit on and shakes it, hoping that one will fall into his little destroying hands.   So, on a whim yesterday, as I tried to ignore the piles of laundry that I not so lovingly call Mt. Everest, I sat him naked in the middle of them and thought he would go crazy.  But he just wanted my camera and I spent the entire 5 minutes trying to haul him back to his spot.  So I gave up thinking I hadnt gotten one good shot.  But I did.  One.  Here it is.  Thanks goodness for fast cameras.

Handsome vs. Cool

Very rarely do I as a photographer have to please two clients in a single person portrait session.  BUT when it comes to seniors I do.  Mothers want CLASSIC and HANDSOME and SMILES.  Seniors want EDGY and SERIOUS and COOL.   It gets a bit tricky sometimes trying to anticipate what will make everyone happy without losing ME in the photos.  I welcome the challenge tho because it pushes me to be better.  And that is what photography is all about to me.  Here is an example:

Seven Months

My little man is growin’ like a weed.  He will be seven months this week and he is on th move.  My house is no longer in one piece. He is crawling all over and he has 4 teeth as of this morning.  He is my biggest fan for the time being.   While I work, he stares at me until I look at him and then he beams head to toe and squeels with delight.  I am one lucky mama!

Dawn

Today is my sister’s birthday.  Dawn, the middle child.  The one who should have, by normal standards, been overlooked.  But instead has shined thru it all.  She is the most good hearted person I know.  To know her is to love her.  And I do!  Thanks Dawnie for always taking me with you to hang with your friends when I’m sure you would have preferred to leave me at home.  Thanks for letting me throw my legs over you when we shared a bed at home.  Thanks for being supportive when I told you about my boyfriend who became my husband.  Thanks for making Kentucky seem like next door by talking several times a week to me on the phone.  Happy Birthday!!!

Mental Breakdown

You would think that my house would be full of photos but it’s not.  I literally give myself ulcers over this subject.  I would love to print 5+ huge canvases to put around my house but every time I almost have my order ready I take another picture of my boys and I have to change my order.  It really is a huge weight on my shoulders because I know when I get these canvas’ made they are going to have stay up for a long time to make it worth it.  SO,  I made a magnet board of all my current faves so I can at least have some pics of the baby around the house while I have my mental breakdown.  (BTW, I do have bigger problems than this but this is the one I have chosen to obsess about today so I dont think about the others :O)

Forgive the bad photos too.  It’s not as easy as I thought it would be to take pics of metallic photos on shiney metal.

Dante ~ 5 Months

I cant get enough of this little man.  He is such a good baby.  I have a clearer perspective this time around on how fast it all goes so I am trying not to miss one single second of his little tiny life.   Well, little tiny might not be the correct words.  He is just getting into 12 months clothing although he is only 5 months old.  I went shopping the other day and left in a huff because they dont make anything that looks babyish for 12 months and over.  My honkin boy is still a baby and I refuse to dress him like a toddler!!

MIA

Hey all!  Just wanted to let you know I have lots of posts coming.  I have just been focusing on my sweet little family in between photoshoots and weddings.  I will make up doubletime in January for my lack of posts in December.  Hope everyone is having great holidays!

IV FOUR 4 QUATRO

My sweet boy is four.  I am in complete awe of him.  He is sweet and crazy and wild and one of the best things that ever happened to me.  He makes me very proud.

Hmmm…LOVES!!

Quite possibly my favorite pic of Dante to date.  It took a few takes for the leg placement and smile to line up right.  Persistance pays.

Lovin’ this Pic

Now you can all see where Rio gets his good serious looks.  Dante took the serious look a little too serious and cried thru the whole shoot.
