Update!

Hello friends!  My blog has taken the backseat this summer and fall.  I am usually much better at updating but as some of you may know, I am expecting my third baby boy and being sick and sometimes overwhelmed has taken the place of blogging.

As much as I hate to do it, I am going to do a blog blitz and post my ONE or  TWO favorite images per session so I can get caught up to current.  I really love to use my blog as a sneek peek for my clients waiting to see their images but with such a back log I havent been able to do that.

In semi-related news, I will be taking Mid January-Mid March off for the baby so keep that in mind if you are thinking of scheduling a session.

Guest Book Idea

I LOVE this idea for a wedding guestbook.  OR even a home guestbook…I am so doing this!!!  You will automatically have all the birthdays of your favorite people.  Two birds. One stone.

2011

The first few weeks of January always turn me into a weirdo.  I spend the time reflecting, dissecting and projecting.  Working out the kinks in my business.  Brainstorming how I can be better, more efficient, more creative etc.  It turns me into a bit of a zombie until I have my plans in place.  Each year I welcome the desperation.  It pushes me to be on top of my game and it pushes my best ideas to the surface.  So here is to a brilliant 2011.  I have some wonderful ideas in store for you.

MANY new posts coming soon.

HOME

Every time I see a soldier I am moved to approach them and tell them how grateful I am for their service.  This has become a bit awkward considering that I live 5 miles from an army base and see up to a dozen at a time just in the produce section of the market.   For the most part I restrain myself.  So you can imagine my delight when I get a call from the creative editor of OK magazine in New York asking me if I would be willing to shoot some images for them of a wounded soldier and his family.  I nearly cried.

They had several guidelines for me to stay within so while these images may not be what I normally would shoot, I love how they turned out.  Most of all I love that these sweet children have their dad safely back at home.  See the Daily Herald write up here and see the OK magazine article in newstands nationwide now.

Bloomin’

I shot at this amazing location this past weekend.  I have a feeling the wild flowers arent going to last long. I have a couple time slots open this week if anyone wants to take advantage.

Ruffled

I was beyond honored when Ruffled contacted me about featuring Alex and Jace’s wedding.  Thank you Ruffled.  Check out the feature on todays’s Ruffled.

8×10? No thanks.

I think that most people think that they just dont have the wall space for big prints.  Truth be told, it doesnt take a lot of wall space.  In this small little spot next to my front door I have 2 16×20’s.

My main wall in my entry room has 6 20×24’s.

Moral of this story?  Dont be afraid to go bigger than you think.  You wont be dissapointed.
