This post is late, but I thought I'd comment on the dish. My hubby and I grew up with TV and It's been very hard for us to get rid of it too. We still have one but it doesn't even have basic access we opt for movies instead it's easier to not lose control. A TV is always on there's always something on. But a movie, you put it on and when it's over it's over. Time to move on. I think you'll find Red Box or NetFlix is a great middle ground! And yeah, when I found out how much Dish and Cable was I thought, WOW!

Oh I love the very last one in b/w. They are beautiful! And awesome choice btw, on tv. If we look back and love how quite and peaceful our homes were, our kids will too!

Smart girl. If I could get T on board, I'd get rid of ours in a minute (not that I'm not guilty of enjoying watching it much too often!) But if it's gone, the temptation isn't the easy option anymore.

Sounds like a plan. Joe and I don't have cable or dish or anything. We just have an antenna and watch network TV or watch TV shows online on websites like hulu.com

Ryan and I had this exact same conversation a few days ago. I wish I was brave enough to completely cancel the dish all together, but I'm not. So we're doing it in baby steps.
