The Clark Family

Pretty people, pretty location, pretty light.  I love this little family and cant wait to meet baby girl number 3.

A little…

of what I have been up to but havent had a chance to blog.

Baby Hazel & Co.

Three Boys

I have somehow become…

a family photographer.  And I LOVE it.  My first few years as a photographer I did 95% weddings.  I got comfortable and was even bold enough to say that I would rather do two weddings in one day than a family portrait.  I dont feel that way anymore.  I LOVE family pictures.  One of the things that I love about them is that they are a mad house almost everytime but somehow the images dont capture it.

I have a very relaxed way of approaching the family portrait.  I tell people where to stand and slight body changes to get good angels but I rarely do more than that.  The last thing I want is for a family photo to not resemble the “feel” of the family.  I refer (in my head) to this way of posing as “perfect imperfection”.

Speaking of PERFECT, here is a sweet family that came to Utah from Canada for the holidays.  I was so happy to meet them and their very lovely children.

The Priest Family

The Davis Family

Well it’s almost December and these pics were taken in September I believe.  I have tons of stuff that didnt get posted in the fall rush so I will try to start incorporating them into my current shoots so if you notice green trees etc that is why.

The Smart Family

Boys!  From my limited experience with boys, (meaning I have half the amount of boys that they do)  I would wager that the Smart household has more than the average amount of living room wrestling matches, sword fights, and all around rough housing.  BUT on picture day, they were on their very best behavior.   Better than average.  Perfect really.

The Gillilands

The Perry’s

This shoot didnt go totally as planned.  The weather was too cold for outside fall leaf photos, the lodge was deserted and dark, we almost got kicked out twice but somehow in the end we made it work.  Thanks Perry family for rollin’ with the punches with me.
