Vendor Spotlight: Blossom Sweet

This past week I had the chance to photograph  Melissa, the (stunning) owner & creative genius behind Blossom Sweet.  This girl has some major talent.  If you are a bride you need to see her portfolio

Crissy

Yay for Spring!  Even tho Spring is not in full bloom yet, it is so exciting to see a litle green here and there. Here are a few photos from Crissy’s fun photo shoot.

Addy

I met my new niece today.  What a sweet little peanut!

Chase & Amanda

What a lovely couple to start off my early spring engagement sessions.  I told this couple as we started out that it was totally normal to feel uncomfortable for a few minutes while they got used to the camera.  I realized almost instantly that they didnt need those few minutes.  I loved how naturally they interacted with each other and with me.  I CANNOT wait for bridals next month.

Checking Back In

I’ve got some splainin’ to do.   I had so many good intentions to blog thru my slow month but when it came down to it, my kids won.  Although my kids come first ALL YEAR round, my time does get limited when the weather gets nicer.  So with tomorrow  being the first day of March and with Spring (hopefully) just around the corner, I am re-committing myself to my blog.

Here are a few images of a super cute duo to start it all off.

2011

The first few weeks of January always turn me into a weirdo.  I spend the time reflecting, dissecting and projecting.  Working out the kinks in my business.  Brainstorming how I can be better, more efficient, more creative etc.  It turns me into a bit of a zombie until I have my plans in place.  Each year I welcome the desperation.  It pushes me to be on top of my game and it pushes my best ideas to the surface.  So here is to a brilliant 2011.  I have some wonderful ideas in store for you.

HOME

Every time I see a soldier I am moved to approach them and tell them how grateful I am for their service.  This has become a bit awkward considering that I live 5 miles from an army base and see up to a dozen at a time just in the produce section of the market.   For the most part I restrain myself.  So you can imagine my delight when I get a call from the creative editor of OK magazine in New York asking me if I would be willing to shoot some images for them of a wounded soldier and his family.  I nearly cried.

They had several guidelines for me to stay within so while these images may not be what I normally would shoot, I love how they turned out.  Most of all I love that these sweet children have their dad safely back at home.  See the Daily Herald write up here and see the OK magazine article in newstands nationwide now.

Brooklyn

Apparently I cant edit and post in the same week. So this past week I edited like crazy and now I guess I will be posting everyday. I bet you wish I was a little more consistent? Yeah, me too.

It was so fun to see Brooklyn again.  Didnt she do fantastic?

On a side note:  Check out my new studio wall!  Big thanks to my sweet husband for creating my every whim.  ♥
