AJ & Jessica ~ The Wedding

Another FABULOUS wedding!

Flowers: Blossom Sweet

Billy & Lexi ~ The Wedding

And then the next night…

Keith & Shardae ~ The Wedding

I loved every detail of this wedding.  These two have such a great dynamic going on.  They are both so chill.  Even moments before the ceremony I was so impressed with how calm and collected they both were.  Their day went off without a hitch.  Here are a few of my favs!

Highly recommended vendors:

Dress:  Alta Moda

Venue:  Sleepy Ridge

Steve & Amy ~ The Wedding

As a photographer, I get invited into people’s lives with the opportunity that most people dont get.  To document real life.  Real moments.  Real people and their LOVE.   It’s really fascinating to be the invited fly on the wall.

Steve and Amy are one of those couples that completely amaze me.  How did this perfect match find each other in this big ol’ world?  They have this ying yang thing going on.  Steve is quiet and reserved and Amy is full of energy.  But they are defiantly sharing the same circle.

Thank you both for having me as a part of your wedding experience.  Based on a certain comment on the previous post, I have a feeling we will be seeing each other again in the future.  (wink wink)

Hair & Make-up: Enizio

Floral Design: Studio Stems

Adam & Dinusha ~ The Wedding

Loved this destination Park City wedding.  Vibrant colors.  Happy people.  Beautiful wedding.

Matt & Alex ~ The Wedding

And a week later, here I am to post this lovely couples wedding photos.  You may remember them from their ENGAGEMENTS and BRIDALS.  Their wedding was so BEAUTIFUL.  The day looked like it was going to go off without a hitch until 20 min before the reception was supposed to start.  EVERYTHING looked PERFECT and then all of a sudden a huge gust of wind blew in a thunder storm and blew away all of the decorations and tables for their reception.  I have never seen such an amazing group as their wonderful friends.  They all waiting patiently for the storm to pass and then everyone kicked it into gear and brought the whole reception back into place by the time it was supposed to start.

Proofs in the Puddin’

I am not sure why this saying has been going thru my mind so much lately but it seems to be my response for everything.

Hubby:  “Did you wash whites today?”

Me: “The proofs in the puddin’”

It would be funny except english is his second language and so he just looked at me strange and comments:

“I’m out of clean underwear”

Guess I’ll save my english proverbs for someone who appriciates them.

Staying Relevant

Before I became a photographer, I used to scrapbook.  But only months after I would finish a scrapbook I would look back thru it and be so embarrassed at how it looked now.  Now that the latest and greatest had come out and everyone else’s scrapbooks looked so much more advanced than mine.  I was constantly disappointed that I had put so much time and money into a fad that changed so quickly.  Needless to say, I gave up on that little hobby.

But what I learned in that endeavor has carried over to my photography a bit.  Last week my work was featured on Utah Bride Blog and the creator and friend of mine gave me the biggest compliment.  She said “Her work is classic but yet stylish”.   For some reason I was shocked that someone interpreted my work exactly like I hoped it would be.

It is very important to me that my work stay classic.  Fads change but a good photograph can be relevant for ages.

On the flipside, it is very important to me that classic does not equal BORING.  I work very hard on this.  My mind is always churning.  Locations. Poses. Angles. Processing.  Keeping if fresh without blatantly copying others or sacrificing my vision.   Now is the time where I apologize for my early years of photography when my vision was not so clear.  I’m sorry for the selective coloring.  I’m sorry for the pigeon toed brides with their skirts up. If you are a photographer and you have been around for 5+ years, you know the pose I’m talking about (O:

ANYWAY, enough of my ramblings.
